Tuition fee loan

Dear Friends,

We have successfully graduated and now we are beginning our new chapter in our life. I believe many of us are usually not informed or lack knowledge in financial issues. Transiting from a child who are fully dependent on our parents to provide our needs, right now we need to be dependent and work to meet our needs and wants in life. It would be a very difficult challenge to do.

Anyway, the opportunity to know people and having a father who works as a branch manager for more than 20 years, I know a bit more about handling finances. I have been actively seeking for knowledge in this industry and also have been investing myself since I was 16 years old.

One advice regarding handling our finances is that we need to learn about building a passive income for ourselves, and invest our money (allow money to make money) of course we are not talking about being greedy and going for illegal or fast growth schemes.

Being a financial consultant myself, I have some advice for you all. Firstly, regarding our tuition fee loan. Please pay the lowest rate to the bank for your loan as it is more beneficial to you. At the same time, that money could be used to invest rather than solving your loan sooner. Investment will give you returns of about 10%, compared to the 5% of the loan interest. I can assure you 100% that it will benefit you in the long run.

Please do ask me if you have any other questions should you have any questions regarding the loan issues ya. Thank you.

Regards,
Chun Keat

My future plans after graduation

Graduate or not to graduate?

If I do not graduate and continue Honours, I will be doing my final year project and doing 5 core modules + 1 UE. What career prospects if I continue to be in Life Science? Professor in a university, researcher at an institution, working with the various ministry on improving environment quality in Singapore, work with animals or plants. Somehow these career paths does not interest me anymore. Thinking about the past, I was only interested if I would see myself successful in this career but not really what I wanted to be known as or to work hard for.

I would work hard for music but besides music, I love investment. I love to educate people around me regarding the importance of investment. Hence, I decided to start on a path as a planner and see where it will take me.

So if I graduate now, I would have much more opportunities outside leading me to where I want to be in 5 to 10 years time. What I want to achieve?

In 5 years time, I would consider myself successful if I have build up a business where my clients trust me. At the same time, I helped the poor to become rich. Of course for myself, I hope that I would have at least S$200,000 in my account - meaning S$400k total gross income in 5 years, S$80,000 a year, S$6666 a month.

In 10 years time, I would consider myself successful if I have a car which I can fully support. a total of S$1,000,000 in my bank account - S$16,000,000 in next 5 years, S$320,000 a year, S$26,666 a month.

I would love to invest in businesses, but definitely not my priority. However, I will actively invest in shares, unit trusts and if possible property.

Plans for right now:
I have interviews at Achema, and HSBC bank. If I fail to get these 2 jobs I will be looking for other jobs.

However, I met this group called Advisor's clique. I love the culture and would like to enroll into their agency where performance and positive attitude meets. This career provides me with the opportunity to meet my 5 year and 10 year plan. I would be able to meet people, forge lasting and quality relationship with my clients and also educate people around me about investment. At the same time, I could take this as an opportunity for me to evangelize to those who are in need.

Why I think I could fit in this job?
I would like to work hard and smart and earn a lot of money. I believe money gives you the power of freedom but it is not everything in life. I treasure personal growth and maturity, and I want to achieve that in this life. I want to be a respectable personnel which have a noble character and at the same time having financial freedom.
